About Extreme Speed
Who are we and what do we do?
Extreme Speed is a full service speed, strength and conditioning, and weight training facility that offers camps and individual work outs designed to make athletes faster, more agile and stronger.
Our Goal:
The end goal is to builder better athletes who can perform at the next level. The president of Extreme Speed, Reggie McGill, has worked hard to prepare a program that ensures the best and most up-to-date instruction is given at his camps and personal training sessions. He takes pride in knowing that throughout his years of training, he has put together a fundamentally sound program that works to develop any person into the very best athlete or physical shape.
Training Philosophy:
Each sport has unique movements, but all contain aspects of running. Extreme Speed will develop those aspects by beginning with the basics and building on them to achieve optimal performance. Extreme Speed will increase:
- Speed Timing
- Agility Quickness
- Balance First-step explosion
We’ll teach you proper footwork, help to build your leg strength, provide methods to increase stamina and design personal running techniques for overall athletic efficiency.
We can help athletes and teams to achieve the next level of performance. Whether its basketball, volleyball, hockey, track, softball or soccer.
Examples:
Football: Mobility and agility are paramount. The proper foot technique will put your body into the correct position quicker, because this sport constantly requires you to adjust to the movement of the opposing player. In football, speed, strength and balance start with your feet.
Baseball: Balance, lateral movement, crossover steps and acceleration and quick stops are essential in baseball. If you are in the batters box, running the bases, in the field or throwing, your feet determine every move in baseball.
Tennis: Slow feet equate to no game, set or match in tennis. Learning how to accelerate and stop quickly is paramount. Here your power stroke starts with your feet, then legs and hips, before it reaches your upper body.
History of Extreme Speed:
Extreme Speed started at Tolleson High School in the southwest valley, in a low income community. After training two athletes who led state high school rushing records with 2,000 plus yards, two years in a row, the school and parents asked that the personal training that was applied to a select few, be extended to all who wished to attend.
Keeping the community in mind, Reggie McGill and Karlas Mauzy decided to make their program affordable so multiple family members could attend. Extreme Speed wasn’t created as an endeavor with “Big Bucks” in mind. It truly is to improve the performance of Arizona athletes.
Since beginning at Tolleson High School, Extreme Speed has expanded its program to Sunrise Mountain and Centennial High Schools. And, the program has grown from just summer programs to baseball and spring camps at those locations as well. Extreme Speed has recently sent invitations to Hobbs New Mexico (? Is this a school?) and Evangelic Christian University in Missouri, to facilitate programs on those campus as well.
Now the invitation is extended to you, the personal athlete or individual looking to get in shape, learn how to run properly and take your game to the next level!
